The “Blue Port Index for BSEC Countries (Blue for Black)” project was presented at the Common Maritime Agenda for the Black Sea (CMA) event held in Burgas, Bulgaria, on 30 September 2026.
The project was introduced during Session 3 – “Driving the Sustainable Blue Economy: Innovation, Ports and Investment”, providing an important opportunity to present the Blue Port Index (BPI) approach and share information about the project with stakeholders and representatives from Black Sea countries.
The CMA event also provided a valuable platform for the dissemination of the Blue for Black project, which is financially supported by the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC). Discussions during the session focused on how innovative solutions, regional cooperation and smart investments can contribute to sustainable development across the Black Sea blue economy. The session highlighted practical approaches to strengthening the competitiveness of ports and maritime activities while supporting their long-term environmental, economic and social sustainability.
